MEDICAL UPDATE: I’ve chosen to not say much on social media or in my blog intentionally, but now that I am heading back to work, I want to make a post to update those who may have wondered or been concerned. I honestly didn’t have some final answers until yesterday, so this seems like the appropriate time to give a brief summary. If you have other questions, please private message me or reach out for a coffee date!
First of all, I am incredibly thankful for God’s presence, ongoing strength, and healing throughout the last few months. He provided the people and medical professionals I needed at every step of the journey, and I am forever grateful. Those of you who walked beside me in November and December know who you are and I hope you know how special you each are to me. I thank God for a supportive supervisor and fellow staff members who have offered their prayers, kindness, and support as I have been away from my job since mid-November. Super thanks to all of our amazing coordinators who have kept worship services flowing smoothly in my absence.
I also thank God for the heart lessons of this season:
-times for my patience to be cultivated
-my desire to ‘DO’ that was forced instead to just ‘BE’
-and yet another opportunity to learn what it means to find JOY in the mundane, the tired days of laying on the couch unable to work or socialize or coordinate the way I so enjoy. I asked to learn about JOY, and He taught me a lot during this time where my Joy couldn’t come from a job I enjoy, ministry opportunities I love, or even from the regular friend connections I was used to. Joy cannot be attached to our circumstances, because our circumstances will change!
Now on with the medical part…Here’s what I am thanking God for:
1) I am cleared from having to go back to the Neurologist, after a normal MRI and EEG.
2) I haven’t fallen since the end of November…no seizures found. Praise God! No other neurological problems found.
3) After 4 ER Visits, two of which were for chest pains/difficulty breathing, I can say that there is no heart or lung damage and I haven’t had chest pains in several weeks
4) I’ve transitioned from what may have been Adrenal Exhaustion to Adrenal Fatigue. My energy isn’t fully restored, so no back to back Body Pump, Zumba classes yet, but I am making daily progress and expect to be taking long walks and my aerobics classes again in the near future!
5.) If we are close friends and you’d like to know more, I’m happy to share in person or in a private message.
I am so thankful to be healthy enough to return to work. It’s been great to learn about the value of “being,” but the “doing” part of me is longing to be back accomplishing a few more tasks in the day! My heart is forever grateful for God’s sweet provision…His faithfulness, protection, and healing power to restore me back to almost full health and for the gift of returning back to “normal life.” It’s been one of the most difficult few months of my life (and also my family), but God is faithful. He’s always faithful. And I have faith He will continue His healing in me as He continues to restore me back to full health.
So happy to hear from you personally about your absence from St. John’s. Wow, what a scare!! Just thrilled to hear you are back & grateful that God has been with you then & always! You are a dear, sweet lovely lady and will keep you in my prayersπππβ€οΈπΆπ.

Thanks so much, Joan! A little delayed reply, as I’ve been away from my blog. π
